*New Economic Stimulus...
*Well, I knew this was gonna happen long before the liberals took over the Presidency, House of Representatives and the Senate.
*The total of $800 BILLION is crazy. Where is this money going to come from? The liberals are giving away the farm and just keep printing money.
*This new stiulus package includes $800 million dollars to Acorn, the organiaztion that helped get Obama elected.....I trust them about as far as I can throw them.
*$200 million for contraceptives so how is this gonna jump start the economy?
*Stem Cell research is going forward with my taxes paying to kill unboard children. Don't these folks in Washington have any moral and ethical values?
*I will not vote for Kay Bailey Hutchinson anymore since she is pro choice and is OK with abortion. I understand that she is going to run for Govenor..
*Closing of Gitmo.......wonder if Obama will take these prisoners in with him at the white house? I understand that Fidel Castro is demanding the return of Gitmo...

Barrak Hussien Obama Mania

Well, here it is the first week after the inauguaration of Obama......its gonna be interesting to see what shakes out. This was the most liberal Senator in the Senate, even more so that Clinton is. He stated that he was going to institute some changes but all I see in his cabinet are people that have been in government all their lives. Dept of State: Hillary Clinton.......Dept of Treasury: Tim Geithner (A man that admitted that he did not pay over $30,000 in income taxes more than 6 years ago)....Dept of Justice: Eric H. Holder who will not protect this country....and Bill Richardson didnt make it for the Dept of Transportation because of his crookedness.....and then there's his Vice-President Joe Biden....what can I say about him? Nothing except he votes not by his conscience but whatever the left wants him to...
Obama is moving this country to socialism with all the bailouts. Bush started that and Obama is continuing the same tradition.
I will revisit this post in 4 years and compare dates.......I'm all for Obama making a go of it but it doesnt look good...

Fished Lake O H Ivie last weekend in West Texas. Lake is some 15' low but still over 100 feet deep. A large transport airplane from a nearby airbase buzzed us while out on the lake. I guess they were checking out our catch of the day....

Boat Days Continued

Here's a picture of my newest yak that I plan on taking down to the coast to do some shark and redfish fishing. Am headed to a refish tournament on Sept 27 and 28. I hope to post some pictures of that if I successful in catching either sharks or redfish. The yak is so new, I dont even have a picture of it in the water yet!

Here is my first kayak. It is a 12' Heritage. Its good for fishing lakes and creeks mostly in the colder weather since its a sit inside yak.

I just realized I havent put any pictures of my boats up, so here ya go!!
This one is a picture of my 16' flat bottom boat that I use for lakes and creeks. I have a 15 HP Yamaha engine on it with a MinnKota trolling motor. Easy to load and unload by myself.

Memories of Spring

Ahhh.......memories of spring are still around at least in pictures if not the real thing......this 12 lb catfish was caught on a jug in 12 feet of water up Caney Creek coming into Lake Conroe.

The dog days of summer are upon us. Fishing has slowed down to a snails pace. The tomatoes are not much bigger than a plum and the thermometer says its hot....

I always wondered what I would do when I retired and when "Lonesome Dove" came out, I saw myself as Gus sitting on the porch in his longjohns watching the grass grow. NOT!

Back Again

Well, its been more than a year since retiring and I've been fishing and eating tomatoes. We are eating about 20 tomatoes a day and cant keep up with them so I'm giving them away as fast as we can. The catfish has been almost a daily diet as well since I bring some home everytime I go fishing. Every now and then I'll bring home a bass or bream or crappie if its big enough but mostly catfish. UHMMMM, I love catfish. Oh, did I tell you that I love tomatoes also?

RETIREMENT TIME!!

AAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Retirement at last! Turned in my retirement notice last week for April 1st.......what a day. After I did it, I was relieved since I had many concerns about what the future held.
Now, what ever will I do? First of all, paint the house, finish the floor in the office, finish painting all closets, finish putting baseboard down and most of all, sitting on the front porch swing til I get bored.
Then I'll have to get the bass boat down to the shop to get the motor running since it hasnt been run in over a year and go fishing. Then get the golf clubs out and hit the gof course since I havent played in over a year. Get the tractor started so I can get the garden ploughed. Then sit on the porch some more til I get bored.
Spend more time with my kids and grandkids. (I hope they dont make me go home after 3 days)
Doing more work for the Lord. I never thought I would make it this far but I did. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
